Tour Guide – Museum Docent Available

Temporary part-time positions available. Variable schedules during museum operating hours. Join the dynamic team at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum as a tour guide! If you have a passion for history and enjoy engaging with the public, we invite you to apply!

As a tour guide, you will:

• Conduct guided & engaging tours of the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum.
• Advance the museum's educational mission by developing and providing educational programs for the public.
• Utilize communication and customer service skills while sharing your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
• Complete an introductory museum training course and study selected readings about Savannah's civil rights movement.

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, and
• At least six (6) months of customer service or nonprofit experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Availability to work during regular Museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Preferred qualifications:

• Some education in history or political science.
• Prior experience teaching and/or giving tours.
